SOC Build & Optimisation
Turn a noisy SOC into one that catches what matters.
We help security teams cut alert noise, fix triage workflows, close detection gaps and get more from the SOC tooling they already pay for. Whether you're standing up security operations for the first time or improving a SOC that has grown faster than its processes, we work hands-on with your team to make meaningful improvements, not just document the problems.
Discuss your SOCThe problem
Alerts outnumber analysts. Triage depends on who is on shift. Tuning has no owner, so the noise grows every month, and coverage gaps stay hidden until an incident exposes them.
This is for you if
- Alerts arrive faster than your team can triage them.
- Two analysts would handle the same alert in two different ways.
- You don't have a clear view of what your detections cover or where the gaps are.
- You're running overlapping tools, or paying for platform features you don't use.
- You're standing up security operations for the first time.
What we do
We start with how your SOC works today, then fix what's getting in the way.
- Map detection coverage against MITRE ATT&CK to identify and prioritise gaps.
- Design a consistent triage method and clear escalation paths, so alerts are handled the same way on every shift.
- Establish an ongoing detection tuning process with clear ownership.
- Rationalise overlapping tooling and get more from what you already license.
- Plan and deliver SIEM migrations without losing detection coverage along the way.
- Train analysts to spot tuning opportunities and escalate them to detection engineering.
- For new SOCs, design the operating model, workflows and tooling from the ground up.
What you get
- Less alert noise and higher-confidence detections.
- Documented triage and escalation workflows your team can sustain.
- A clear view of detection coverage, with gaps identified and prioritised.
- An ongoing tuning process with clear ownership.

SOC Health Check
typically 3-4 weeksA focused review of your detection coverage, false-positive volume, triage workflows and security tooling. If you use an MSSP or outsourced SOC, we also review how effectively the service supports your internal team, including alert quality, escalation and detection tuning.
You get: a clear view of what’s working, where the gaps are and a prioritised remediation plan.

Our experience includes Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, Google SecOps and ArcSight, alongside SOAR platforms and the MITRE ATT&CK framework. We work with the tooling already in your environment rather than pushing a preferred platform.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between SOC build and SOC optimisation?
A SOC build starts with the operating model, tooling, workflows and initial detection capability. Optimisation starts with a SOC that's already running but may be noisy, inconsistent or missing coverage. For existing SOCs, the SOC Health Check is a good starting point. If you're building from scratch, we'll scope the operating model and delivery around your environment and requirements.
Do we need to replace our SIEM to fix a noisy SOC?
Not necessarily. Significant improvements can often be made by tuning existing detections, improving alert context and making triage more consistent. Where a migration does make sense, we plan it so detection coverage isn't lost along the way.
How do you measure whether the SOC has improved?
We agree the measures at the start, such as alert volume, false-positive rate, time to triage and detection coverage. For implementation work, we establish a baseline and compare the same measures after changes are made.
